Open Track Day Wreckage: How To Crash Your Evo While Not Wearing Any Safety Gear

Open track days are riotous fun. They are the type of events that allow people who have always wanted to road race a shot at the track to test their mettle. In the case of this video, which shows a kid crashing his Mistubishi Evo with a passenger and sans any type of safety gear, it also illustrates that being on a race track always means there’s a chance of carnage. This guy claims that the brake fluid boiled in his car, causing the brakes to fail, we’re seeing it a bit differently.

To us, it looks like he overcooks this corner by a mile and is on a bad line. In the event he was attacking the course like he was playing Gran Tourismo and dive bombing the car into the corners while stabbing the brakes, he may have cooked the fluid. That’s all moot when you consider that neither the driver nor the passenger is wearing a helmet, the driver is wearing shorts, and the only thing covered by anything remotely looking like safety gear are his hands, as he’s got racing gloves on. Why wear racing gloves and not another shred of safety equipment? Who knows, but he drives like a guy who’d do that.

Beware, there are some swear words uttered in the midst of the crash and shortly thereafter so turn the volume down or cover the kid’s ears!
