Bending And Notching Tubing: Keys To A Successful Chassis Or Roll Cage Build

It seems like two of the top reasons people hesitate to build their own roll cage, roll bar, or tube chassis is because bending and notching tubing require specialized tools. This is why companies like Chris Alston’s Chassisworks have been selling pre-bent and notched roll bar, cage, and chassis kits to Sportsman racers for decades. They use their computer controlled equipment to build components you can weld up yourself with minor fitting. But if you are trying to do something custom, or just want to do it yourself, then tools and equipment and knowledge at a completely different level are going to be required.

In this video from Tim McAmis, you’ll see him talking about bending and notching tubing. This video is part of the new Fabrication Series he’s put together and really gives good information that may help you on your project.

Last week we shared the first parts of the series where tubing, fitting tools, and measuring tools were discussed. This week it goes a little deeper yet.

Watch and learn.
