If you live somewhere that freezes, which means a lot of the country, you need to make sure you winterize your boat so that the thing won’t freeze up and ruin stuff. If you leave the boat sitting out for a few months, and then want to use it for summer again, it may not be a happy camper without winterizing. But if you own an old boat there is still some wonder as to whether or not winterizing will be enough to keep it happy for another year. Or at least it would be for me!
In this video we see Rebeldryver taking his boat out of storage and back into winter form, if it will run…
Video Description:
We attempt to de-winterize our boat that we winterized ourselves last fall. In order to reduce the size of the hole in the water we throw money into with our cheap boat, we winterized the boat ourselves. Did we do it right? Or, did we screw it up and destroy our Johnson 115 HP two stroke outboard?
We purchased this 1983 MonArk McFast VSF-16 Fish & Ski boat super cheap, and in order to keep the ownership cheap, we have been working on it ourselves. The boat dealer wanted $350 to winterize a two stroke outboard powered boat. We thought that was outrageous, so we made the attempt ourselves.
In this video we see if we winterized the boat correctly. We de-winterize, or Un-winterize, or summerize, or whatever it is called prepping it to use this summer.
Those are float carbs on the V4, yes they will run tilted half up, but they are much happier tilted down. Started running those old girls back in the 70s, simple no computer, still run them today here in Alaska……..
