Just like most racing events, the more I can relate to what is going down the track, the more I tend to enjoy the view. I like seeing street cars at the dragstrip, cars driven into the autocross that can hang with the big boys, and when it comes to truck pulls, I want to see trucks! If they hook up with plates attached, that makes me happy. If they are playing in a class that doesn’t lend itself to street-driven trucks, I at least want to see what could easily be mistaken for a street-driven truck…factory panels and if it’s not legal, then it had better be entertaining. If it’s a gasser, it better rev like a demolition derby car that’s going in for the kill early on and if it’s a diesel, I want to see the tires dig in and hear the air getting shoved through the block. What works better, anyways….two-wheel-drives with their front wheels in the air, or four-wheel-drives with all four or six wheels churning dirt?
Whatever your preference, we have trucks here for you from the 2018 Butler Homecoming in Butler, Illinois and we’ve got everything from diesels pulling their guts out to the glowing headers of the 2WD gas classes. Turn up the volume and enjoy some of the best pulling footage we’ve seen in a minute!
