Roadkill! Chasing Wheelstanding Glory With A Rear-Engined Stubby Bob!

Roadkill! Chasing Wheelstanding Glory With A Rear-Engined Stubby Bob!

At the start of the adventure that is Roadkill, the guys bought a Pontiac Catalina that would best qualify as a “standard beater”, drove it back to California on a budget when California’s gas prices were solidly stuck in “stupid” territory, and called it a win. It’s amazing to see how far they’ve come since that first road trip…they’ve had lots of fun, plenty of adventure, and always leave the episode with one question: how are they going to top it next? Overachieving with underwhelming materials isn’t as easy as it looks, you know.

“Stubby Bob”, the 1950 Ford F-6 bobtail that the guys built a while back, has returned, and this time, there is no flathead V8, no “grind ’em to find ’em” manual trans or any of that. Ok, the very questionable brakes remain, but you have eyes…there is now an engine sitting in the back of the frame, just above the axle. On a short-wheelbase truck like this, with no weight in the front to counterbalance the effects of the torque…oh, yeah. This thing will climb the ring gear like a spider monkey. There’s no doubt about that. The question is, will their spines survive the abuse? Click play below to find out!

    Words fail me!

I want Road Kill to come over and give Wor Lass a make over – it’ll be cheaper than that luxury spa weekend she thinks I’m going to pay for and she’ll look a lot more interesting

You want to know the best thing? I reckon she could even pop a few wheelies…

CHMG…You might be needing your own personal “wheelie”. Try the little blue pill ! 🙂

John – I have to take a little red pill which has the opposite effect of the little blue pill. That’s why Wor Lass keeps needing these make overs!

Talk about building a useless vehicle with WOW factor. I love it! Mike didn’t look too well after that wheelstand though.
