The more we see of events around the world, the more we hope we win the Lottery so we can attend them. From car meets at the Ace Café in London to any of the myriad of wild Australian meets like Brashernats and Powercruise, to the Maverick/Comet meets in Brazil…and we can’t forget a stop in Russia to let Lohnes go weak in the knees over the damn near unstoppable trucks…but lately it’s Finland that has had my attention. Blame the tunnel-rammed Fury ex-cop car that has been my favorite car of the last month, but I suddenly really want to experience the Vantaa Cruise. Held every third Friday of the month, it seems to be a car show, an Aussie-style burnout competition and a mini-Woodward all rolled into one. There’s tons of American sheet metal over there, so you’ll see lots to like…Camaros, Mustangs, even a Dodge Aspen that sounds like it wants a fight! There’s also a bit of the local flavor in the form of a highly boosted Volvo 262C coupe. There’s even a Chevrolet Viking that would take care of the boss’s big truck itch. Better go count up the money in my swear jar and see if I have enough to fly out there…
For all the other Geordie BangShifters out there – the Metro Centre cruise takes place in the Mcdonalds car park on Wednesday 12 August.
Come and see the BEST cars in the north east of England!
