If you’ve studied high performance engines you know that there are some things like more compression, a bigger cam, and boost that build power. As you get deeper into these engines you learn that certain things effect the engine in different ways to make power at different RPM ranges. One thing that has always been a serious concern for high rpm engines, and engines with extreme camshaft profiles, has been valvetrain weight. While we were at the SEMA Show our own Brian Lohnes took some time to talk valvesprings with the guys at COMP to find out how these new conical springs can help everyone from the street strip hot rodder to high level pro racers.
