The battle of the SUV heavyweights goes on and on, it seems, but here in Norway, a battle between the old way of thinking and the newest available option is about to meet up head-to-head to see who is better. Truth be told, what happened is that the owner of the Land Cruiser made the claim that in the lightly snowed conditions seen here, that his wagon would be better off than a Tesla Model X. The Land Cruiser, which is the Prado variation (we know it as the Lexus GX in the States) is a very competent off-roader. No sweat there. The Model X is everything Tesla, but with the shape of an SUV instead of a sportback sedan. The question of any tug-of-war is going to be torque. The Tesla can put all of it down at once…which might not be the best thing to have on snow. The Cruiser, on the other hand, doesn’t have that problem and can lock down into low if it needs to.
