Every spring, Jeep likes to trot out a series of concept vehicles while fans of the brand descend upon Moab, Utah for a week or so of camping, trail running, camaraderie, and plenty of pro-Jeep lifestyle advertising. It sounds like a fantastic time to show up and show off in anything from a flat-fender to the latest and greatest, but there are some party poopers who like to prove that Moab isn’t as radical as what you might have been led to believe. There’s the gentleman in the old Ford Crown Victoria that went up Hell’s Revenge with just about zero trouble, for example. Or a lightly modified Geo Tracker. And some mountain bikers have the stamina and strength to take on some of the trails.
The progress that Grind Hard Publishing Co. have made with “Senderella”, their radically-reaching, way overpowered Power Wheels project hack-up, has been very impressive. It’s been trapped running well over 100 MPH, has been broken and rebuilt again and again, and looks as fun as all get-out. But is it more than just a toy? That’s been a bit harder to determine, because the whole premise behind building something like this is to just have a riot of a time with it. Well, we now have a pretty good answer for that question: no, it’s more than just a toy. Anything that is capable of running trails on Moab like this thing does isn’t a toy. It’s proper. Sure, there’s a couple of spots where the winch has to be broken out and there’s a trail fix when the steering arm lets go, but it’s a modified Power Wheels…in it’s original condition, this thing shouldn’t be able to get out of a mildly steep ditch under it’s own power.
