The Parting Shift: Bumper Cam Footage of Bob Self’s 218mph Ford GT From Loring, Maine

Bob Self’s totally bad ass 2006 Ford GT can lay claim to being the fastest car at Loring, Maine during the 2010 LTA event. Bob ran this monster to a 218mph lap and it sounded as sweet as anything we’ve ever heard before. This footage comes from a little camera mounted on the front bumper of Bob’s car.

We’re going to cheat here and give you two videos. Watch the bumper cam footage first. Listen to this car wind up and make steam. When the car hits terminal velocity, there isn’t much you can hear, but the launch is some sweet-ass mechanical muzak.

Congrats to Bob Self and crew. They ran harder than all comers this year. Hopefully they will be back, and even faster in 2011.
