The late Ken Montgomery bought a Hemi Belvedere in 1965 and raced the hell out of it for decades. Ken named the car the 555, known better as the “Triple Nickle” over the years and it has became one of the most famous Super Stock drag cars of all time. Ken passed in January of 2013 and this season his name has come up numerous times at races we were at. The guy left a huge mark on the sport and he was one of the best drivers out there.
The performanc of the car has certainly evolved over time. Back in the day, if the thing touched the 11s, you were literally riding a rocket. Now Ken’s car runs in the low nine-second range and he still pulls the handle himself. Gone is the A-833 transmission that would have been under the floor board in 1965 and in is a modern Jerico crash box.
Crank the speakers and listen to one of the true masters at work. Between the time he has owned the car and his skills with a shifter handle, the late Ken Montgomery was a living Super Stock legend!
Thanks for the tip Dave!

Who gets his car and are they going to continue his legacy?
We did a few 1:18 replica’s of his cars, and do miss talking to Kenny. Great guy.
japan aids everybody by simply integrating a handful of distinctive features and functions. It’s a unvaluable item for every fan of japan.
