The reason the GM LS engine is so popular is because of it’s dollar-to-horsepower ratio. Simply put, it is very difficult to find a better bang-for-your-buck option than the late-model motor. Sure, you can pick up an older small-block Chevy easier, but look at the power levels coming out of an LS block, then picture how much more money it would take for a typical Mouse motor to make the same figures, while remaining steerable and daily-drivable. Another reason is it’s versatility…we’ve seen them jammed into just about everything, but this Suzuki Jimny (read: Samurai) has been stuffed to the gills with the engine. How, we really aren’t sure. Why…well, it’s Australia, and stuffing an LS into a Suzuki anything is like a Falcon with a mountain motor. And it’s effective: this Jimny can make itself disappear in giant clouds of smoke with little to no trouble, and can turn on a dime with just a slight provocation of the long pedal on the right. Hmmm…suddenly an LS-powered Geo makes sense…
