I always wondered what it would be like to own one of these little 6×6 contraptions. I would see them advertised in the backs of magazines, where they were shown to be able to go anywhere, do anything…hell, some of them were even amphibious! What kid wouldn’t want their own version of My First Tank? And then I got into dirt bikes and forgot all about them. Until I stumbled upon this footage from Ashtabula, Ohio. Apparently there is a group of people out there who race these, and it looks like a blast. Well, up until this particular moment, anyways. The yellow six-by, a Starcraft model, was leading with the gray one, a Hustler, trying to catch up. At the tabletop, the driver of the Hustler made his move…and that’s when things went bad quick. The UTV bounced and rolled, then dug in and went onto its nose before crashing down on the roll cage. Luckily, the only damage was a bent roll bar and the seat suspension breaking, and once they roll it over it fires off and drives away like nothing happened. Now I want one again. Badly. I’ll roll around with a military helmet on, with “Rise of the Valkyries” blasting out of a portable stereo and a paintball gun at the ready.
Noise warning: the “rewind” noise they found will scare the crap out of you if you aren’t careful.
