Ferraris are cool and all, but I only know enough about them to be dangerous. But when a dude that is into Ferraris says that this Ferrari 512BBi is a rare bird that could be worth as much as $400,000 had it not been sitting outside for the past 12 years, I’ll take his word for it. So it sits for 12 years, looks like hammered crap, and is arguably going to need a TON of work, so the price had to be really right…right? But was it right enough? Or is this one a lost cause? Can it be saved?
The three videos that follow will tell the story leading up to answering those questions. Like any old car that is being saved, it is an adventure, this one just happens to say Ferrari on it.
Well that and the fact that there were only 42 of this particular Ferrari built with Right Hand Drive, and just 965 of them with the steering wheel on the left hand side. Plus it is the only one made in RHD that was white. It really is a unicorn car, and that is the kind of thing that could make this car really valuable. It only has 6,420 miles on it!
For some reason the owner bought it in 2006 and it was well documented as being one of the nicest 512BBi models in the UK. He drove it for two years and then parked it outside where it has gotten moldy and ugly and sad under a car cover. Watch.
