The 2JZ Toyota 3.oL inline-six is a legend in the world of Japanese imports, for good reason: it doesn’t take a lot of work to make one crank out stupid power. There’s a reason why the 2JZ is hunted down everywhere they can be found: you can get 700 horsepower without touching the bottom end of the block whatsoever, and if you do go for a full build, if you can’t make four-digit horsepower figures, you simply aren’t doing it right. You can make jokes all you want, but the 2JZ is robust, can take the boost, and has few parts that fail. Chances are very good that if you square off against one and you were laughing before, you won’t be after. So let’s say you have a built-up ex-Supra mill that needs a new home. Why not a Fox body? Light, cheap, and able to take just about any engine out there, from the 2.3L Ford four-banger through Cadillac 500ci V8s and beyond, a Fox body is an automotive chameleon, able to become whatever the environment it lives in asks of it. Besides, the engine bay was meant for an inline six…but a 2JZ is as far away from the 3.3L Falcon six as you can possibly get!

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

Look mate – there could be a Briggs and Stratton one-lunger under the hood for all I care! All that matters is that is an LS-free zone and that’s alright by me….

  2. ANGRYJOE

I look at the 2JZ swaps that seem to be so abundant lately much like people look at LS swaps….Not for me…but whatever floats your boat…
