I’ve been welding for decades, and whether you weld for fun, for work, or as part of your other hobbies, there is nothing more useful than good tools and machines. But no matter how good your tools and welder are, if you don’t have a place where you can place and hold items to weld it can be a pain. Everyone knows that parts welded in fixtures, or chassis welded on a chassis table, are going to be straighter, squarer, and more precise than those made on some rinky dink bench. But not everyone has the space to put a big fancy welding table in their shop, and even some of the DIY kits aren’t cheap. So what do you do? Well, in this video one determined man puts together a really cool table, with plenty of custom features, to work in his shop. It’s small, but useful as both a welding table and workbench, and doesn’t require any special fixturing tools to work well. I like it, and I think a smaller table like this needs to be part of our new shop. I’d love to have a large chassis table as well, but this is a welding table that I think I would get a TON of use out of on a regular basis.
