We’ll start your Monday with some good old fashioned straight line battle…with a twist. Instead of a “normal” drag race between similar cars, Mike Finnegan, Fred Williams, and Greg Emmerson (who is the editor of Eutotuner and European Car Magazine) each picked a car from SEMA that was “them” and squared off. Finnegan went with the really neat 1970 Harbinger Mustang that has some really classic tough guy looks, a Coyote motor that makes 420hp to the rear tires, all kinds of neat pieces that were made by 3D printing, and an exhaust note that is dead-flippin-sexy. Four Wheel and Off Road’s Fred Williams decided on a truck and not just any truck, but a King of the Hammers competition rig that packs an angry LS3 and enough tire to literally drive straight over the other racers. Finally the European car guy of the bunch Emmerson chose a modified 2007 Porsche 911 tuned up by BBI Autosport. You’ll recognize the Porsche as it was in our coverage of the 2013 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational.
The “race” was held at the El Toro airbase on one of the runways and we don’t know how long the course was but it sure seems like at least a half mile. We’re not going to give away the winner here but you’ll see that each of these machines spends a bunch of time in their respective top gear with the hammer down. Sure the odds favor the AWD Porsche but could one of the other two competitors give the thing a run for its money? Will bratwurst rule the day or rue the day it decided to tangle with an American classic and a King of the Hammers winning trail rig.
If we came out of this video with one thing it was supreme jealousy…and the need to pass along a note to the losers. BUY NITROUS!

What was the point? An off road buggy vs. a Porsche 911… hmmm, which will be faster in a drag race? I was kinda hoping Finnegan’s Mustang would just melt into a pile of 3D plastic. Didn’t they have aluminum fabricator and a good TIG welder?
How long was that drag strip? A mile? Does that boy know how to drive that Mustang? He bogged it every race.
