This right here is more than five minutes of video zen of SCCA Trans-Am racing in 1969. It seems to be a portion of a longer video and it has all the feeling of some type of promo. We dig the natural sound of real Trans-Am cars doing battle.
What really sold us (me) on this was the kick ass AMX pace car and the neat shots of the red, white, and blue Javelins competing.
Anyway, the SCCA announced that it is bringing Trans-Am back this year in name, although the series is basically just made up of GT-1 cars. They’re nothing like these overweight, under-tired, beastly handling machines. Just watch the way they slide around the corners.
Another thing to look for is the pit stop footage. There’s not a uniform in the shot and people are scrambling in about 100 different directions. You’ve got to love this.
