With a total production of about 30 cars, it’s rare to lay eyes on a real 1971 Olds 442 W30 convertible, so seeing one of these cars get thrashed on a road course, spun out, and thrown through the cones is a special treat. Thanks to a tipster we can share with you some cool old video showing a segment from Bud Lindemann’s “Car and Track” TV show. Watching the big Olds during panic stops is scary fun.
Whoever the test driver was for this show had the greatest job in the world. They really beat the hell out of this car in a multitude of ways. Our favorite parts are the moments when the car is tail out around the corners and frying tire all the way out of the frame. Torque is your friend.
Thanks to BangShift.com reader Scott Bares for the tip!
