Walk Through Jay Leno’s Garage And Take A Look At The Resto Projects: Cunningham, Mercedes And More!

Jay Leno: comedian, television show host and bona fide car nut. Whether you do or don’t like his material, you can’t deny that the man with the gigantic chin has a genuine passion for all things automobile and that he strives to do the best that he can for the cars that he brings into his garage. We often showcase the drives that he does with these vehicles, because he has a pretty wide variety of automobiles to choose from, and because most of them are pretty damn cool. But they don’t usually start that way. Leno and his team of restoration techs usually get a workout giving a car a once-over before it’s up to the kind of quality that you see on the videos he puts up on YouTube. That’s countless man-hours just in the labor on the car, not to mention parts sourcing, researching, and whatever else that comes up between the moment that the car is found and the moment that the team can step back, admire their work, and call the car “done”. Every now and then Jay likes to put out these “Restoration Blog” videos to keep viewers updated on what’s being wrenched on in the shop, and we dig that. A finished car is one thing, but seeing something like a 1971 Mercedes coupe in the paint booth curing while work continues on the long-term build Cunningham makes for a neat behind-the-scenes trip through the garage few normally get to see.
