This video will provide reason 6,342 why you should be super glad to live anywhere BUT Siberia. After showing you Siberians literally zip-lining a station wagon over a raging river we’re back with another video involving risk, water, and near death experiences. This time the footage shows a semi-floating bridge that cars are slowly passing. It appears to span a wide river and the cars are hugging the left hand side which is at least visible above the surf. The rest of the bridge is at an unknown depth. As the cars creep along and make slow progress the come to a stop for a reason that you can’t tell at first. Quickly we find out that they have stopped because a huge Russian dump truck is bearing down on them.
The big truck passes by, sloshing water everywhere. The sloshing is the minor part of the issue though. The weight of the truck takes the “floating” bridge and effectively scuttles it. This isn’t a problem for Yuri in the huge truck, but the people in the tiny cars aren’t so lucky. The bridge dips to such a depth that at least one car becomes buoyant and begins to float to the “railing” on the side of the bridge. Thankfully the bridge floats up to a level and “catches” the car before it heads for the open ocean or a nuclear power plant or some sort of car eating monster that lives in Siberia.
We’re just wondering if the guy in the truck was sick of being stuck in traffic, out of vodka, or had to pee, but he hightailed it over that thing. You’ll see the truck stop at one point and then nearly roll back onto the bridge for some unknown reason. This whole thing (as usual) pins the wacko meter and leaves many more questions than answers. Has anyone ever driven over one of these bridges before as a civilian? It seems like something military guys would have seen before in the field, but we have never heard of anyone using a bridge like this in “normal” circumstances.

I’ve been across one of those in Uzbekistan. (former soviet republic). The bridge was floating on the river on top of old fishing boat hulls. We were in a tour bus, and the driver asked us to walk across the bridge and then he drove the bus over. I was actually glad to walk it than be trapped in the bus if it all went bad. The surface was a patchwork quilt of overlapping 1/4 steel plates. they were constantly popping up the corners because of the river movement, and there were 2 stick welders going around re welding them down…. It was an adventure!
Gee that was fun Daddy. Can we do it again?
Russians built bridges underwater (12-18″) during WWII to hide them from the Nazis. It’s in their DNA not to worry about silly little shit like this!
I can’t figure out why the moron in the Yugo/Fiat stopped, why the guy in the other car just didn’t go around him, etc, etc. Seems like the whole issue was stupid drivers..
Hmmm… When the bridge has life preservers every 10′ I guess this is not exactly an uncommon occurrence.
Why the hell would anyone live there isnt that where they sent the folks who werent too happy about communisum?
