Holy testicle Tuesday is this wild! We were tipped off to this video by our pal Martin and for good reason as this is 100% wild ass BangShifty carnage! In the video you will see a Shelby GT500 Mustang on a small portable chassis dyno. We have no idea if the car was stock, modified, or otherwise. As the car gets up to speed and works through the gears everything appears OK. Finally, the dyno pull begins and it does not take long for stuff to go completely haywire. Sparks begin to shower out of the dyno roller area and then BOOM it all comes apart violently. The true saving grace in this situation is that the heavy rollers themselves did not get free and mow down a crowd of people. Those things would literally kill anyone in their path. Judging from the weird look of the rear end in the Mustang, it sustained some damage from this excitement.
Was the pull started with the brake on the dyno? What would cause the spark shower and them catastrophic failure of this unit? Was the car too much for the little dyno to hold onto? Either way, this is a good example of why you need to be on your toes and in a relatively safe area when observing dyno pulls. Trust us, we’ve been down the scary failure road on the rollers and it ain’t fun!

That’s not a real GT500…
The wheels are aftermarket knock-offs and at least 1 size too small, the brakes are not GT500 brakes (too small, wrong calipers), and there’s numerous bodykit issues. What I’m getting at is might be a GT, or even a V6, under that hood. Definitely a dyno problem, not a too-much-motor problem…
Look at 53 seconds into the video, dudes were pointing and backing away from dyno right before it let go. I would say the far side from the video camera was creeping off of the rollers.
Junk car. Junk dyno.
Thanks for sharing this. That junk car is just going to extend to rot. perhaps you have the junk car in your car port so that it’s out of view. It’s still deteriorating. Is storing a junk vehicle in your car port the best use of your car port space? No! Turn that junk vehicle into cash.
