You’ll have to forgive the video quality, but this one is worth it. This footage comes from a Jaguar test drive at the factory about four years ago. The gentleman who is driving is one of the professional test drivers for Jaguar, and he’s feeling frisky and is ready to go take an XK out onto the track for some tire-killing fun. The guy in the passenger seat is just here for the ride and is completely oblivious to what is about to happen. He appears to be calm and settled as the driver brings the car around to the start of the circuit, but once the flag drops the BS stops and the second the Jag hits the first corner the passenger seems to lose any and all ability to keep himself upright in the seat. He slams against the glass hard enough you wonder if it’s going to break and slams against the driver hard enough it’s a miracle he didn’t lose control of the car. The noises that he makes reminds me of the “hook” mechanism fighter pilots use to keep from going into G-lock, and judging from the way his eyes tend to roll you wonder if he’s already getting close to passing out. At least the driver would already be used to the passenger’s body flopping about the interior.
