As best we know, dirt bike free riding is simply heading out into the countryside, mountains, etc with your dirt bike and eschewing roads and trails for the natural habitat and the cool obstacles it presents. Canadian rider Kris Foster is known as one of the best at turning natural landscapes into incredible stunt parks in the world. In this video from Monster Energy Drinks Foster heads out into the wilds of British Columbia with his buddies and literally soars off of jumps and natural formations present in the semi-desert hills of the Okanagan region of that province. These jumps make anything a moto-cross guy does seem like a whole bunch of nothing. In the lead photo, that’s not a photo shop of camera trick, he really was that high and he really flew that far. No foolin’.
Obviously the perils of this type of riding are high. Frankly if you are gravely injured out in the middle of nowhere, even a plane ride isn’t going to get you to a hospital on time. Just to see the cliffs these guys drive down and jump off is enough to freak us out. We could not imagine the sensation of what it feels like to be that high for that far…on a motorcycle! The backflips and stunty stuff are cool but we really dig the huge distance jumps that Foster and his mates pull off.
If you have a dirt bike, so help us God, don’t try this stuff. These guys are better at than virtually anyone else on Earth….you aren’t.

Actually, pretty much everything requires “tearing the hell out of the natural landscape”……. You know, like building the house you probably live in, the roads you use daily etc. If it’s not your land, why the hell do you care so much? Take a trip to the Okanagan, there is lots of land around that looks just like this, and looks like it would be lots of fun 🙂

On a side note to Geetar slinger? Look in any Mountian Bike mag. and you will see all kinds of trials Mt Bikers have built on public lands in BC. I wouldn’t be suprized if some of what these guys were riding on wasn’t single track. Oh yeah one last thing…
