Peter Xiberras’ second-round run at the Santo’s Summer Thunder event at Sydney Dragway was certainly less than desirable. Shortly after launch the bullet in Xiberras’ Top Fuel dragster called it quits in spectacular fashion. As soon as the engine popped, oil got under the slicks and sent the digger on a fiery and wild ride that saw the dragster rock up onto two wheels as it dived straight for the right-side wall. After striking the right side, the dragster spun around before driving into the left wall in reverse before puttering to a stop. Xiberras was unhurt in the mayhem, but the dragster was done for. Prior to this incident, he had been scheduled to make an event in New Zealand, but with the car mangled up, that appearance isn’t looking likely. Click play below to see the incident:
