We’ve been showing you Formula Off Road videos from places like Iceland, Norway, and other far off locales for years but we think that this is the coolest one yet. This is not a wreck video, it is a wild testament to how capable these trucks are and how bat crap nuts their drivers are as well. The truck you will see in this video, which was shot in Norway, is called the “Choir Boy”. We’re not sure what the body style is supposed to be but it does have a Chevy bowtie on the grill area. With a short wheelbase and a stomping, angry, V8 engine under the nose this truck is hyper maneuverable.
So what you are going to watch is the truck making a lap of the course laid out by race organizers. the truck climbs a steep section of hill then makes a u-turn, driving back down what is essentially a sheer cliff. After the truck clears the first hill, you’ll see the driver just stand on the gas, scramble up the second hill and literally launch himself into a crevasse! The crevasse is so deep that the dude literally drives the rig into it until he hammers down again and the truck claws out of the fissure in the Earth like a mountain goat. This is freaking nuts and awesome at the same time. From what we have read, this was apparently the only successful complete lap of that course on the day this video was shot.
It takes a special kind of courage to drive like this guy does. What a show….we want to try!
