Watch The World’s Quickest And Fastest Street Legal Hearse Run 10.70s and Fry The Tires For Miles!

This video serves as more proof that horsepower can cure all ills. The guys at AMS Performance in Wisconsin took a mid 1990s Chevy Caprice hearse built by Superior Coachworks and stuffed it full of an 800hp, single turbo six liter LS engine. They beefed up the transmission and suspension to get the thing stuck to the ground, painted some ghoulish murals on it, added big brakes, wheels and tires and have been laughing their asses off ever since. The engine makes a claimed 800hp to the tires and we have to imagine this monster weighs in at close to 5,000lbs.

Despite the massive weight, handling looks decent in the video and this thing is a tire frying monster on the street. On the strip it hooks and goes to the tune of 10.70s at 120mph plus! We have seen drag car hearses before but this is the first time we have seen a truly high performance street legal one getting after it and running this hard.

One of the cool things is that AMS is mostly known for their tuning of Mitsubishi Evos and other hot imported cars so this big fatso of a hearse is way outside of their normal wheelhouse. We’re not sure if they are going to be doing more domestic stuff or if this was just a one off fun deal for the shop. Either way, it is a fast tank!

I was thinking something similar but with an Allison Diesel engine making big HP numbers.
    This car nails it though!
