We’re fascinated with huge wheelstands and we’re guessing you are too. Hell, there are whole events designated just to the glorification of cars defying gravity for as long as possible. We recently got tipped off to a couple videos of a pump gas, LT1 powered Camaro pulling an epic wheelie at an unnamed and unknown drag strip.
What makes this deal even cooler is that the car reportedly drove to the track, pulled this incredible wheelstand, made a couple more passes and the drove home. This could have easily turned into disaster if the car had veeered left of right, but it did not and the driver was on the ride of the lifetime.
Luckily the feat was observed from two angles on that day. Check them both out below!
Up, up, and AWAY!
I googled a couple names from the sponsor signs when the Camaro was lining up, It said Ft. Wayne Indiana.
It is Osceola Dragway, I have been there.
I drove from my home in PA straight to that track, made some passes, then went to my girlfriend’s house. 650 miles, IIRC.
That track was very bumpy, at least it was back then (2003).
osceola is in Elkhart In
SWEET! Looks like he prolly cooked the engine on that pass. Too bad.
I took the bottom video. That is a friends Camaro. The smoke came from a tire rubbing the quarter panel. He made a couple more passes after this and then drove it home.
He also won his class recently at Bowling Green in the LTX Shootout.
I forgot to mention the track is located in Osceola, Indiana real close to Elkhart, Indiana. It has been in operation since 1957.
Car was un hurt besides a few scratches and the tire rub got, a new best et the very next pass..
Courtesy staging, please?
