What Aerodynamics?! Get A Closer Look At The LS-Swapped Winnebago!

What has the frontal area of a barn that got thrown by a tornado, looks like a cinder block with wheels and a two-Earth-toned graphic around the perimeter, and is enough to make worried mothers spool up their rhetoric about candy and strangers? Any Winnebago from the 1970s that is still roaming the roads, that’s what. Chad might be up on older RVs but from where I sit, they are the ultimate expression of “creepy”. RVs do not age well, and the era of Winnebagos that have names that reference Native Americans certainly don’t. At best, they are donors for big-block Mopar hunters or, if you get lucky enough to score a near-perfect one, will make for a passable weekend house on wheels. That’s about it…after that, I’d rather sleep in the back of a Ford van with all of the seats removed.

But if you haven’t seen the ancient RV that the Sloppy Mechanics LS-swappped, you need to. If nothing else, there is something so unbelievably funny about the most oversized Dodge van on the planet sporting a Chinese turbo in the wheelwell and enough power that the words “fast” and “Winnebago” can actually be used in the same sentence without being tongue-in-cheek about it. When one passenger has the meth injection tank sitting underneath their ass as they sit at the table, something’s right. When it sounds like most of the vehicles at LS Fest while it’s getting up to speed, with the stock brakes and an admittedly bent wheel…well, it’s been a fun life!
