Gary and Pam Beineke’s names are no strangers to the electronic pages of BangShift.com. We’ve featured several of their cars, highlighted the amazing work they did on a recent project to help and ill Mopar enthusiast, and seen their efforts racing the recently completed Bobby Issac tribute car. Gary let us know that he and Pam recently hit the A2 Wind Tunnel in Mooresville, North Carolina, with their awesome “never built” 1971 Superbird.
It is neat to watch the smoke trail work over, under, and around the car. We really dig the fact that they spent some time with the Air Grabber hood open. The smoke really shows how much air that little scoop is grabbing.
An interesting note is that before this car hit the tunnel, the only other “1971 Superbird” to see the wind was a 3/8-scale model made as an engineering exercise. Gary and Pam completed the R&D work nearly 40 years later!
