During our days announcing SCCA road races, one of the most fun classes to call was Spec Miata. What they lacked in power and speed they made up for in contact. It was Saturday Night Thunder with left and right turns. Well, this video brought back all those fond memories. These two racers dice it up good, but it ends badly for one of them.
The action starts at about 15 seconds in when a racer comes from behind and appears to be completing a pass when our hero with the in-car camera gives his car full right rudder and appears to force his competitor right off the course. The dude in the grass must have driven like a mad man because late in the video we see him attempt another pass and, well, let’s just say he probably would have preferred another trip into the turf.
