Pal o’ BangShift Dawn Mazi-Hovsepian was at Beaver Springs Dragway recently to shoot photos and video of the 2012 Jalopy Showdown nostalgia drags. Being her normal awesome self, she got lots of cool stuff. One of the first pieces of footage she posted was this wreck video showing racer Tim Dugan going for a truly wild ride in his bitchin’ 1930 Ford drag car.
Things begin OK for Dugan and then go bad at the 330′ mark. As the car was moving right, Dugan corrected to the left which then upset the car, sending it into a series of swerves across the left lane of the strip ultimately resulting in the light ’30 putting a wheel or two off into the grass and spinning clear around twice before the air got under the car with predictable results. The 1930 Ford headed off into the grass that lines of the opposite side of the track in a series of rolls. Dawn reports that no serious injuries were incurred in the wreck and that Dugan walked away. Thankfully the car was equipped with a roll cage because it would have folded up like a wet napkin without it.
