You wouldn’t believe the number of people that ask me how to get into a career in the automotive aftermarket, automotive media, etc. And then I also get asked how I got into the whole thing, which sometimes surprises me because I assumed anyone that cared already knew my story. Then I did my buddy Adam Dorey’s “That’s Cool… Drink!!” podcast where he wanted to know how I got where I was. So when this video from the IronTrap Garage Podcast came up, where they tell us how they started IronTrap Garage Parts, I had to share it. This could be how you get started in the automotive sector.

When a guy opens up a convenience store, a plumbing service, or an oil change place, nobody really wonders how they got into it. But when someone opens up a business that is outside the norm, everyone at least wonders, and lots of folks ask. And let’s face it, selling car parts from the 1930’s and 1940’s is a bit outside the norm, so even if you know that the Iron Trap guys are hardcore into cars you don’t necessarily expect them to have a warehouse full of old iron and parts for sale.
