My brother in this BangShift madness Chad really likes to break my chops about the unapologetic love I have for tractors. Well here’s mud in your eye pal! The Vancouver Sun recently ran an awesome piece about the tractors built by Porsche. Score one for the good guys.

As is mentioned in the story, lots of the major names in automotive history had a tractor loving side as well. Ford and of course Lamborghini are two of the names that come to mind immediately.

Porsche was a brilliant engineering mind and some of his earliest work involved the design of military equipment for the German army. His later design work on the tractors included a modular engine that was easily expandable by adding complete, individual, cylinder assemblies. The tractor company was a sucessful business unit and was eventually spun off into another company, but for a time Porsche’s tractors were the pieces to have on European farms.

The styling is kind of bizarro world for our taste, but hey, it’s a tractor so obviously we love it.
