Vintage 1920s Land Speed Post Cards From Ormand Beach

Vintage 1920s Land Speed Post Cards From Ormand Beach

BangShift.com member Jeremy George (Mustang13 on the forums) provided us with some awesome vintage post cars showing land speed races in the 1920s being held on Ormand (Now known as Daytona) beach. Of note is Sir Malcom Campbell’s Bluebird, among other massive machinery of the day.

These post cards belonged to Jeremy’s late grandmother, Alice Hendrickson-George, who passed them on ther Jeremy’s uncle. Jeremy received them after his uncle passed away. They provide a rare and candid glimpse at the dangerous and sometimes deadly world of land speed record chasing in the era of mechanical brakes.
