BangShift reader Johnny Gaudette tipped us off to a cool YouTube channel that belongs to an Aussie dude who shoots drag races. In rolling through some of his clips, we stumbled upon this crazy video that shows Aussie racer Dallas White experiencing the nightmare of every fast door slammer racer, flight. White is making a lap in what looks to be an ex-NHRA Pro Stock car when the car suddenly gets loose at the top end, yaws sideways and catches air under the back.
With nothing to keep the car on the ground, the air lifts it like a child’s toy and before he can do anything to stop it, the Pontiac is literally skidding along on the point of its nose. The racer in the other lane has a front row seat to all of this and does his best to stop the Ute he is driving. After the Pontiac stops and we can see both cars, it is unclear whether or not the Ute hit anything or if the puddle on the track spilled out of the Pontiac as it was performing the aerial acrobatic act. White was OK after this wreck we have learned, but it must have left a lasting mark on his psyche and wallet.
Any idea whose former Pro Stock car this may be? It has all the paint markings of the old Kurt Johnson GM Performance cars, but we’re not sure.
