Website of the Week: Photographic History of Virginia International Raceway

Website of the Week: Photographic History of Virginia International Raceway

We’re suckers for vintage photos around here and especially if they are of the drag race or road race variety. This awesome set of photos, specifically related to the history of Virginia International Raceway is totally cool.

There’s muscle, open wheel, closed cockpit, and pony car shots in here from back in the days of road racing glory. This website is focused on the history of the track during its initial run of 1957 – 1974 and frankly, that’s fine with us because it’s the era we love the most in American racing. There are some far out home built creations in the pile of photos as well.

There are literally hundreds of photo pages available so what we’ll do is give you a few links to check out and the main site if you really want to dive in. Thanks to Joe Roberts for the tip on this!
