Will Schumacher Be An F1 Title Contender in 2010?

We’ve been keeping an eye on the press surrounding the return of Michael Schumacher to the Formula One mix in 2010. To say that this guy is treated like some sort of living god in the European press would be an understatement. Think we’re kidding? We’ve got the link to prove it.

Don’t get us wrong, we’re cranked up to see this happen and will make it a point to watch as many of the races as we can (and with the advent of the DVR there’s no need to stay up all night to catch the action). It will be high theater if he actually has maintained his edge and can hammer the hell out of the field like he used to do driving Ferrari entries.

It seems that the pieces are in place. The car is as good as any other, proven by the fact that the seat he is taking belonged to 2009 champ Jensen Button, his team is being led by Ross Brawn, the same man who oversaw his run at Ferrari, and he’ll be running on mostly the same circuts that he dominated during his prime. The faces in the other cars are different, but the results may remain the same.

The Italian tifosi (fan base) is calling him names currently, but as is dramatically stated in the piece, “When he stands before them, they will drop to their knees and worship him.” Like we said, this guy gets treated different than the average humanoid.
