When we first read this USA Today piece about high-end driving schools, we immediately went into negative mode and were thinking about taking pot shots at anyone who would pay $5,000 bucks to spend one day to have a shot at going 200 mph. Then it kind of hit us that running 200 mph isn’t all that easy, or cheap.
Obviously this driving school/experience is for the well heeled. We sure don’t have the five thousand dollars laying around to spend on doing this, but if we did, is it money well spent or a waste of cash? You’re not going to build a car for $5,000 that will be legal to go 200 mph at any sanctioned racing venue. Just to put four Z-rated tires on the thing would run a big chunk of your budget out the window.
