Don’t go looking for the number 28 on the track this weekend. ESPN and NASCAR.com are reporting that Yates Racing has suspended all operations of the team and sent most of the crew people to other places in the company.
The reason? Lack of funding of course. The Golden Corral restaurant chain sponsorship has run out and the team has no other money coming in. There isn’t enough in the bank or the wallet of the team owners to keep the car running on their own dime.
Travis Kvapil is the driver of the car and his future at this time is unknown. He is under contract with Yates.
