(Photos by Mike Brooks – Gasoline Images) – Well we have reached the end of Mike Brooks’ awesome photos from the I-X Piston Powered Aurorama 2016 but the good news is that we’re not done completely. Mike was not alone at the show and we’ll crank up Jose Ferrer’s photos tomorrow. In this collection there is a ton of great vintage drag iron from gassers to dragsters, coupes, and more. The paint on the gasser in the lead photo is some of the greatest we have ever seen. There must be hundreds and hundreds of hours in that job.
We have been singing the praises of this show since we learned about it (by these guys attending) a couple of years ago and we’ll continue to sing it from the hills for years to come because it is completely awesome and speaks to everything that we need in this world of the car hobby. With the EPA trying to squash us like a bug it is important that we all stick together even if our specific tastes don’t completely line up because the basic idea behind all of it is the same. Preserving history, making horsepower, and owning something you are proud of. Those are the tenants of what we do and this show highlights that!
