(Words and spectacular photos by Benoit Pigeon) – How to decide what are my favorite shots taken during the year.  That’s a tough one! In fact I started early on this year to put thumb nail files on the side only to found out that things get more complex and emotional as you get to know some racers and witness more action. Rain was a big player in reducing the number of shots I could take this year too.  It was unfortunate, but then, less pictures to choose from… should help right?

In the end I managed to limit the count to 66 images including some cars featured\ multiple times. There is no real logic to the selection apart from mixing emotions colors. If you want to describe the shots you like most in the comments, I’ll try and be less selfish an other time and take some notes, just don’t write less Pro Mods, that probably won’t work…  I want to thank PDRA, NHRA, EOPM and Roxboro Motorsport Park for their great support and letting me shoot at their events.

(Benoit Pigeon’s great drag strip photography has been a staple here at BangShift for the last couple of years and we can’t thank him enough. The guy is a lover of door slammers no matter what size the tire and we’re blown away by the fact that he’s able to get to as many events as he does. All summer long we had some of the best action drag race photos on the wb from the lens of Benoit’s camera. Truly cool!)
