Super Stock In Slow Motion: Three Minutes Of Wheels Up Launches In Slow Mo – Interesting Video!

Super Stock In Slow Motion: Three Minutes Of Wheels Up Launches In Slow Mo – Interesting Video!

Fun fact for you to know and share. Drag racing announcers usually fight about certain categories to be on the microphone for. Super stock happens to be right up close to the top of that list. Why? The cars are amazingly cool, the launches and performances are fun to watch, and it normally means you’ll see someone ripping gears at least a couple times during the event. This video shows why so many of us love super stock and it does so in slow motion, providing an interesting look at chassis and suspension tuning that you’d never be able to see at full speed.

The coolest part of this video is watching the difference between the automatic and stick cars on the hit. Why? The automatic cars have this gentle, almost serene nature about them as they climb the ring gear and carry the front end well out of the hole. The stick guys are exactly the opposite. Violent and jerky, they hit the starting line with everything they have in an attempt to tear it bald. The good news is that you can watch all of it and see how the stick cars really wrap the tires up and all. You will also be able to see why stick cars tear the starting line bald at tracks when watching them hammer the tires. Cool stuff.

This video was taken at Thunder Valley Dragways in Soux Falls, South Dakota. The place sure is a hard hooking joint because these wheelies are serious business!
