Hot rodders have been taking short bed pickups and putting big one ton heavy duty engines in them for decades. But doing so with a Diesel is a little more problematic because they are so heavy compared to their half ton counterparts. Doing the swap from gas to diesel means that a lot of folks start off with a 3/4 or 1 ton diesel and shorten it to make it the short bed version, while still maintaining all the heavy duty suspension needed to hold up that big diesel powerplant. I believe that is the case for this particular short bed 7.3 PowerStroke short bed combo, and it’s a riot!
