Woosie! Around here it gets so humid that you can walk from the shore into the ocean and the only way to tell is if you happen to get into the undertow.Originally posted by Beagle View PostSmaller DA number! I spent a lot of time down there as a kid. It's on the waterfront. We had a low humidity day - only 60% that day. It was awesome, you could actually dry off when you got out of the shower.Originally posted by DanStokes View PostWoosie! I ran Airbags and drag radials in the "Storebought" pony last year.Originally posted by BBR View PostAirbags ordered.
The Strange shocks have reduced the body roll somewhat, but since they are single adjustable for rebound only, this sometimes results in the rear suspension squatting and staying squatted and then rubbing the rear tires. The rear springs may be past their prime too. I really wished I had bags last year on DW when the rear tires were rubbing while loaded on the road. The bags have individual lines so I can stagger the air pressure from side to side.

Hated the tires.
Not sure the Airbags did much. (But then ~412 h.p. doesn't cause much rotation about the roll axis)
My family tech advisor (ex-Art Morrison sales guy) dogged the air bags hard and said they make the car "too stiff" in the rear. Claimed they hurt weight transfer. Said they were out-of-style and I had wasted my money. Told me to run 'em deflated.
I tried his advice, but too much wheel hop from the lousy factory lower-control arm bushings to see if he was right. Car never ET'd well at Texas.
On the 12.8 pass in Louisiana, I had the right side pumped up fairly stiff (don't have my notes, can't remember how much) Cheap air pump broke about then, so I mostly quit messing with bag pressures. With the retina-detaching wheel hop and the lousy short-sidewall drag radials, and no spray, it didn't seem to matter anyhow . . . .
I'll probably run bags this year in the "Plan A" Fox (if it ever gets out of bad roll cage fabrication purgatory) because they're cheaper than a proper drag-style anti-roll bar. And I'll probably end up regretting it.Comment

They are definitely a band-aid and I fully understand that. That being said, there are plenty of fast cars that still use them, and I can't air up an anti-roll bar to keep my tires from rubbing the fenders!

Airbag install complete. It was fairly painless. The hardest part by far was poking the bag into the spring. Really works the finger tips out.

After:

With max 35psi

Sky Jacker!

Each bag has it's own schrader valve. I drilled new holes and mounted them where lower license plate holes would be.

Minimum air pressure is 5lbs, but at the track I will probably just drop the driver's side to 0 and play with the passenger side to keep the tire out of the fender.
While I was there, I decided to open the diff have a look and change the fluid. Everything looked fine. No metal, just LS clutch material as expected.Last edited by BBR; July 15, 2013, 06:38 AM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Nice placement of the Schraders!
Don't you have to run a little bit of pressure to keep the spring from abrading and pinching the bag? (see instructions . . . over in the trash can).
I'm hopefully assuming that Fox 'Stang bags will work on bigger Foxes that Air Lift doesn't list in their catalog.Comment

I will keep 5lbs in them normally, but I don't think running one side flat for a few hours at the track will hurt anything.
I'm sure they will fit non-mustang foxes as well.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
