steel rims don't bust when you're trying to bunny hop curbs running away from the storm troopers... I was thinking moon discs. Wait - I got it...

Getting back to more thread content, Remy-Z, you've outdone yourself again, I thought a Mirada was the icing on the cake of rodding, but this Imperial is the spread of little 99-cent candy letters spelling out "EAT ME" on top of that cake.
I'll answer your wheel question. You can have wires. MAG WIRES. Appliance Mags? Top center of this pic:
I know, I know, they're something like the stock wheels of a late late 2nd gen Berlinetta. They'd look good on this Christine of yours.
And what the serious f&*% is with those radio mounting bolts? Never seen one before today. I'm sure they're part of the Infinity radio so they're anti-theft or something. They're also anti-smart, anti-useful, and anti-everything in the whole of ever. I agree, Dremel a slot on them and flathead them out. That's what I do with TPS sensors and anything else with "tamper-proof" screws.
Impress us. Recalibrate that speedometer to show 188mph. It's got the one in front it, has to, it's English/Metric, 85mph = 137km/h. Seriously, I'm sure it can be done. Just hack up a TRS-80 or an Apple II or something.

That, right there, just made my night.

Not so much Infinity, but definitely Chrysler's high-end stereos. Not a bad concept, if that was an across-the-board design, instead of some speciality crap that nobody remembers.

The problem is that the calibrations. If I found a export gauge cluster, the speedometer would go to 122mph, but I'd have easier luck finding Hoffa's body. Nobody has figured out how to tune the gauge cluster. My cure for that would be to get Dakota Digital to do a custom dash layout...they can do it for any car, I can fit the aux gauges and a tach into the cluster, retain the green VFD lighting, and keep the dash looking NOS. Problem is, that little "fix" is $1000/custom dash.
As far as wheels, those AR Salt Flat rims are growing on me. I'm on a list for a professional fitter to do some measurements to find optimal backspacing and offset, seeing how I botched up bad last time.

I agree with BBR, I think the Salt Flats would look great. Do they come in 16" or 17"? Better selection of tires.
17"-18". I'm planning a later brake upgrade, trying to stay ??x8", but 8" wide fronts might be too much.

The teardown has started early. The car is sitting up on stands, and I'm slowly, methodically dropping the rear end and leaf packs out of it. The 2.24-equipped 8 1/4 would be a nice save for a gear change later, but with no space and no need for excess parts, it's gotta go under the Mirada. Everything is nice and clean, and bolts are coming loose with just a mild soak in PB Blaster. I'm doing minimal work today...rest of this week is buildup to finals, then the big job comes this weekend..
