eBay Find: The Coolest Ramp Truck in America – 1970 Dodge L600 Resto-Mod Truck

eBay Find: The Coolest Ramp Truck in America – 1970 Dodge L600 Resto-Mod Truck

We normally keep our eBay finds to a once a week level but after being tipped off to this totally bitchin’ 1970 Dodge L600 ramp truck by BangShift reader Deaf Bob, we had to get it here on the front page. It is actually not 100% accurate to call this a 1970 Dodge L600, instead it should be called a modern truck with a 1970 L600 cab, but we love it no matter what you want to call it. There are so few of these trucks around that it is a show stopper in every since of the word.

What’s neat about the medium duty Dodge cab overs of this era is that they look like scaled up Dodge A100s. Those two big headlights, the doors, and the grill area are all nearly identical to an A100, but larger looking. As we said above, this truck has been modified with modern mechanicals like a 2003 Cummins engine, Freightliner axles, and a nearly new ramp style wrecker unit on the rear. The good news is that it drives 1000% better than a stock L600 and could be the cornerstone truck for a small towing company looking to make a name for themselves. The bad news is that it is essentially a new truck with an old cab on it. Again, we’re not knocking the thing, but there’s not much L600 left here.

This one is at the top of the DO WANT list all of a sudden, although the $55,000 starting bid is tough stuff. That number isn’t crazy when you consider that this is a modern working truck that could be earning that $55,000 back the day you get it!

  1. George

My ’74 Gremlin would look great on this as I rolled into Wisconsin International Raceway at Kaukauna.

  2. 75Duster

So would my ’75 Duster street / strip car George. At least we have the same mindset.
