eBay Find: The Epic Combo Of A Ranger Body, A Heavy Duty Truck Chassis, Lots Of Exhaust Stacks, And A Big Block

eBay Find: The Epic Combo Of A Ranger Body, A Heavy Duty Truck Chassis, Lots Of Exhaust Stacks, And A Big Block

So even I, the dude who loves big trucks of all shapes and sizes is speechless over this creation. It looks like a movie prop, and then there’s one angle where I was almost willing to dig it a little, but I just can’t. From the absolutely massive side gas tanks to the four exhaust stacks, two of which seem to be simply for show purposes, to the American flag (disrespectfully?) thumb-tacked to the headliner, I don’t know what the positive attributes of this truck are. I don’t think it is the wiring because in every interior photo, the tack is showing 9,000-RPM. The seller lists the truck as having a 454ci big block but unless it is one of the rare 454ci big blocks that Ford never produced, this thing has a 460 in it.

Backing that big block Ford engine is a five speed transmission. It does not list what type of transmission the truck has but from the interior photos it doesn’t have the look of a heavy truck shifter. That being said, it can’t be a T5 or something. Maybe an NV4500 out of a diesel Ram truck? Who the hell knows. The origins of the chassis is also a mystery. Is it possible that this thing was a single axle smallish dump truck? Has it been drastically shortened up? While the seller is listing it as a “monster truck” you’re certainly not crushing anything but fuel consumption records with this truck.

There are some positives. First, the turning radius must be totally awesome. This big truck should probably out turn a golf cart…unless you are on grass and the truck sinks into the Earth. On pavement, though? Untouchable. The other single element I really dig on the truck is the rear tires. Taken off this thing and added to something else, they’d look cool.

The current asking price is $25,000 and the truck is located in southern Florida. Do either of those things shock you?

Since that flag has been violated and is no longer suitable for presentation, it should be burned. In the cab, starting the fire that destroys the vehicle. Then BURY it.

    1. CTX-SLPR

You would have to cut the cab in half to do that since you burn the field and stripes separately.

Agree, totally disrespect to put it there!

I agree with you both. Total disrespect for the flag. It is also a serious insult to anyone that builds hot rods or trucks. My guess a retired trucker with a bunch of left over parts. Probably costs more to fill the talks with high octane
that the whole rig is worth.

454ci? It could have a 429 that was punched out to some weird size and had custom internals made for it.

    Otherwise yeah I agree it’s probably a 460.

You know the old saying ” So wrong, it’s right” ?? This is so wrong, it’s still wrong…Have to agree with the first poster, burn it !!

Also, in one of the photos at a gas pump it is going to a tank in the bed. Can that thing use enough fuel that it requires three tanks?

“While the seller is listing it as a “monster truck” you’re certainly not crushing anything but fuel consumption records with this truck.” Haha!

You need to think out side the box this is call different flag is awesome no disgrace there ! On the seat paper towels !

I would guess that the chassis is from a Ford C-Series. This guess is based on the fact that it has Dayton style rims on it, and that some C-Series had as short as a 116-inch wheelbase.

I watched the video on the bottom of the ebay page, and the stacks in the bed are operational. The side stacks are for show. If I had to guess, the side tanks are probably for show too. With the engine being so exposed, I wonder why it needs four electric fans. And I would have to agree with the person that said this has to be a short dump truck frame. It’s funny that the tach is showing at nine grand when its just sitting at idle. The salesman sounds as though he doesn’t know a thing about cars at all. I think he’s just one of those that thinks he can get rich from selling everything at the highest prices possible.
