One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and vice versa. Just because I like weird old barges doesn’t mean you do. Just because you like lifted trucks doesn’t mean that I do. That’s what makes the car world interesting…if we all liked Camaros and Mustangs, we’d…wait, never mind. That’s a bad comparison. Anyways, you know the point that I’m trying to get at here: variety is the spice of life. But the car world has some interesting sections, groups of people who have a hive mindset over certain things. Corvette owners are like this…they like car shows, staying together in packs and every now and then the adventurous ones will go to a track and drive fast. Most Corvettes are coveted by their fans, but there are certain years that fall under idol status, and the 1963 Corvette Stingray split-window coupe is right on that list. As it should be: a one-year only form of the extremely sexy second generation Corvette, the split-window’s trademark rear glass design is the reason that so many enthusiasts are willing to pay big bucks to own one or restore one.
And then there’s this one, sitting on 54″ Boggers, slopping through the mud. BangShift Mid-West HQ is close enough to the National Corvette Museum that I might actually hear the screams of the offended once this is published…and I wait patiently for that moment.
Then you’re really going to flip when you see the 72 Cuda truggy that’s floating around the net. This one is simply a repop body over a tube frame…. the cuda was real.
