We’re huge fans of DIY tools and garage hacks around here, so this cool DIY system from the Garage Fab channel on YouTube does it for us. Aaaron does all his work in a two car garage in a regular neighborhood, like most folks, and that means he has to be smart with his space and storage. It also means that some fabrication tools are a giant pain in the ass when it comes to figuring out where to put them and how to use them without it being an all day affair to get them out and bolted to a bench of the floor. Grinders, benders, shears, shrinkers and stretchers, etc all need a stand and some room to really be simple to use. But having stands with legs takes up a ton of room.

So what other choice do you have? I’ve seen plenty of folks who put in threaded inserts into the floor of their garage so they can bolt down a stand with their tools on them, and that works pretty well. But I’ve always been a fan of receiver style systems on benches or in the floor, and that is exactly what Aaron has going on right here.
